Attention Travellers

A visa is not a guarantee for access into the Schengen States. The final authorisation remains with the Immigration Officer at the border.

In addition to a valid passport with a visa (except for exempted nationals), every non-Belgian National, when entering Belgium, should be able to produce the following documents to the Immigration Officer :

Concerning his/her Stay in Belgium

• for tourism : hotel reservation, documents from a travel agency
• for a professional visit : letter from the employer, invitation from a Belgian firm or organisation
• for a private visit : original 3bis (Formal Obligation)

Concerning his/her Means of Living

• Cash, Traveller's Cheques, Valid International Credit Card

Proof of Medical Insurance

• covering all type of expenses including doctors and/or hospital fees and social assistance

Guarantees of Return

• Air Ticket, Ferry, Road Travel arrangements, etc.
